SEISMIC RISK ANALYSIS OF THE SHOPPING MALL "DVORANA A"

We carried out a comprehensive seismic assessment of the existing Hall A building at BTC City, which included a structural review, non-destructive investigations, and advanced numerical simulations of the building’s seismic response. Seismic safety was evaluated using both probabilistic and deterministic approaches, in accordance with the requirements of SIST EN 1998-3. Based on the results, we prepared a clear set of strengthening measures and estimated their investment costs.

SEISMIC STRENGTHENING PLAN “HALL A”, BTC CITY

Based on the seismic safety assessment, we prepared a comprehensive seismic strengthening plan for the precast reinforced concrete structure of Hall A at BTC City. The plan included strengthening of precast beam–column connections, retrofitting of reinforced concrete columns using steel jackets, and seismic protection of the suspended ceiling as a non-structural element by means of specialized synthetic SEISMOLINK restraints

SEISMIC STRENGTHENING PLAN “HALL 17”, BTC CITY

Based on the seismic safety assessment, we prepared a comprehensive seismic strengthening plan for the steel precast structure of Hall 17 at BTC City. The building was constructed in the 1970s and was not originally designed to withstand adequate seismic loads. The strengthening plan included retrofitting of bolted connections, replacement and installation of new diagonal bracing members, strengthening of anchorage systems, and increasing the sectional compactness of the hall’s slender cantilever columns.

SEISMIC SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF THE PETER DRŽAJ HOSPITAL

For the client, UKC Ljubljana, we carried out investigations of the load-bearing structure and prepared a seismic safety assessment of Dr. Peter Držaj Hospital. As part of the analysis, seismic safety was evaluated in accordance with SIST EN 1998-3, using both the q-factor-based analysis and a nonlinear pushover analysis (N2 method). We also provided a proposal for potential seismic retrofit measures for the building.

DEVELOPMENT OF STRENGTHENING MEASURES FOR RC COLUMNS WITH A LOW DEGREE OF TRANSVERSE REINFORCEMENT

Our company also carries out experimental investigations of structures aimed at determining their mechanical response. We conduct studies to determine the mechanical properties of structures based on ambient vibration measurements and reinforcement scanning, using both destructive and non-destructive testing methods.

DEVELOPMENT OF A SEISMICALLY RESILIENT LOAD-BEARING STRUCTURE FOR LUXHOUSE PREFABRICATED HOUSES

By applying nonlinear structural response analysis methods, we contributed to the development of the structural system for Luxhouse prefabricated residential buildings. Using a high-fidelity numerical model, we simulated the seismic response of various materials (timber and steel) as well as the connections between individual components, which enabled the client to design an optimized yet still safe load-bearing structure.

PROJECT OF THE COMPOSITE BRIDGE “SAVSKA LOKA”

As part of the renovation of the bridge over the Sava River in Kranj, we prepared the reconstruction design for the Savska Loka underpass. In the first phase, the deteriorated arched span structure was removed. A new slender composite span structure of the “WIB” type was then installed on the existing abutments, providing a modern and adequate traffic profile. The selected solution enabled fast and efficient construction, allowing the entire intervention to be carried out with minimal traffic disruptions through the underpass.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE G360 BUILDING

As part of the reconstruction of the G360 building (formerly the Gavioli Embassy building), we performed the role of structural design engineer. The scope included verification of all existing load-bearing structural elements, design of new structural elements within the existing building (new beams, slabs, staircases, and external façade elements), as well as the design of foundations for new steel halls constructed adjacent to the existing building.

SEISMIC EVALUATION OF THE ŽIRI HEALTH CARE FACILITY

As part of the design-for-execution project – Renovation of the Žiri Health Centre, we carried out a seismic assessment and prepared a conceptual strengthening design for both buildings of the Žiri Health Centre. The buildings were analyzed using software specialized for masonry structures. Seismic safety was evaluated in accordance with Eurocode 8‑3, using the N2 method. For the strengthening of the buildings, replacement of masonry walls with reinforced concrete (RC) walls and/or the addition of walls on the exterior of the buildings was proposed.
